All students must download and read the on-line manual which is available above.
For each lab (except the first one), bring with you your printed pre-lab reports to the lab. Although you should have already emailed the pre-lab report to the TA, you should bring a printed copy because you will likely need your pre-lab diagrams for the current lab.

Lab Schedule

There are six (6) laboratory exercises, each of which runs in a two-week cycle. Due to space and resource limitations, each section is divided in two sub-sections. The sub-sections will alternate on different weeks to do the same lab. You must do the lab work with your designated sub-section.
All labs will take place in EE-203.

Note (♣) the alternating TA assignments for Section #2 (Wednesday).

Lab Policies

For each lab (except the first one) you must prepare a pre-lab report based on simulation of a circuit (or two) which is then implemented in hardware during the lab session. Failing to bring the required pre-lab report is penalized by 40% of the maximum grade (100). Bringing only the simulation printouts is penalized by 30%.

The experimental work in the lab accounts for 40% of the grade. The Post-lab report must be submitted at the beginning of the next meeting (except Lab No. 6) and accounts for 20% of the grade. The TA is required to return the graded final report to you with all three grade components clearly marked, for example 30/40+40/40+15/20 = 85/100. Please check carefully for mistakes when you receive it. No corrections will be made after the next lab cycle. Keep these reports till the end of the semester! Please direct all your inquiries to the TA in charge with your section.

Summary of policies:

  1. For each lab session, you are required to hand in:
    1. Post-lab report for the lab conducted during the previous session
    2. Pre-lab report for the current lab session
  2. Both reports must be submitted by email to the TA responssible for your session by the beginning of the lab session.
  3. Failure to submit lab reports will result in a 40% grade penalty for the respective lab session.
  4. Both post-lab report and pre-lab report should be handed in per group  (not for individual students).
  5. The following information must be included on the first page of both reports:
    1. The title and number of the lab session this report belongs to.
    2. The names of the group members and the contribution of each student to the report.
    3. The sub-section your group belongs to and the date of experiment.
  6. Grades will be assigned individually, per-student and not per group.
  7. The individual student grade will be based on:
    1. Pre-lab report
    2. Post-lab report
    3. Student’s contribution to the reports
    4. Student’s involvement during the lab
  8. The report contents must be prepared electronically. Handwritten reports or those containing handwritten material (e.g., text, tables, etc.) will not be accepted.
The only exception are the block diagrams, which may be plotted by hand, scanned electronically, and inserted in the report.
  9. If you are absent from a lab session, you may contact a TA and arrange to participate in another session of this lab exercise (on another day).
If you do not participate in any session of a given lab exercise, your grade for this lab exercise will be zero.
  10. If you are late more than 30 minutes for your lab session, your grade for that session will be reduced.
