Final Exam Information

- Location:
- Students with last names beginning in the range A-K will take the exam in SEC, Room 118
- Students with last names beginning in the range L-Z will take the exam in SEC, Room 117
- Closed book, closed notes (no formula sheet allowed), no calculators
- Related Material: Cumulative, covering homework problems, reading and lecture notes for the entire
semester with emphasis on material presented after Midterm Exam 2 (i.e., Ch. 6 and 10).
- In addition to the recent material, the final exam will include at least one problem from each the following earlier topics:
- Error detection (Ch. 2), i.e., parity check, block parity check and CRC codes
- Queuing systems (Ch. 3), either M/M/1 or M/G/1 queuing systems, or, possibly both
- ARQ sliding window protocols (Ch. 4), e.g., frame transmission diagrams and throughput performance
- Routing (Ch. 5), i.e., shortest path trees for unicast packet forwarding and techniques for multicast
- Internetworking (Ch. 9 and notes), e.g., bridging protocols, IP forwarding tables, IP fragmentation and IP subnetting
