Parking

You can park in lots 64 and 60B outside the CoRE building. You will need a parking permit for your car. You can obtain this from the CPS Lab staff.

Transportation by Air

Travel schedules, prices, and availability change frequently. Please contact the carrier for current information. We recommend air travel to the Newark, New Jersey International Airport (EWR). Kennedy (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA) the other New York airports are also used, but they add at least two hours travel time and considerable expense.

From Newark Airport to CPS Lab:

The NJTransit Northeast Corridor Line now offers convenient train service from Newark International Airport to Metropark, New Brunswick, Princeton Junction, and other stations. For details, see NJTransit’s interactive schedule and fare site. Shuttles from Newark Airport may be reserved through the Olympic Airporter Shuttle Service. Fares are approximately $39 one way; estimated travel time is one hour.

State Shuttle is a shared van service. Call 800-427-3207 (US), 732-542-6505, or 973-729-0030 to make a reservation. Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance and require a credit card. To make reservations on-line, go to the State Shuttle Web site: http://www.stateshuttle.com/

TaxiCab service at the airport: To CPS Lab: ask for Busch Campus of Rutgers University; located in Piscataway. Ask the driver to enter on Metlars Lane (See Driving Directions to the CoRE Building ). Cost (2008) about $75.00. In the US, tipping cab drivers a dollar or two is standard.

By Car From Newark Airport: Take NJ Turnpike (Toll Road) South from Airport. Get off Turnpike at Exit 9 to Route 18 N and follow directions at Driving Directions to the CoRE Building . Alternately, take Exit 10 to 287 North and follow directions at Driving Directions to the CoRE Building . From Newark or Kennedy Airport:

Princeton Airporter drops passengers at the East Brunswick Hilton. A cab can be taken from there to area hotels or the center. From LaGuardia or Kennedy Airports:

Carey Bus Lines ; Contact: 718-632-0506 or 1-800-678-1569 (US only). Carey Bus Lines to Port Authority in New York; take bus from there. Carey Bus Lines to Grand Central Station in New York; taxi to Penn Station in NY; and take train (see below) from there.

Or Grayline Air (bus) Shuttle (1-800-451-0455) to Newark Airport. TaxiCab from there.

Transportation by Train

Regular train and bus schedules can be found at the New Jersey Transit website. The Newark/New Brunswick train route is serviced by the Northeast Corridor Line. Visit Amtrak on the WWW. See also the Unofficial NJ Transit commuter train schedules - look under the Northeast Corridor.

From New York, NY or Newark, NJ:

From Penn Station in New York City; or from Penn Station in Newark, Ride to New Brunswick on Amtrak or New Jersey Transit. New Jersey Transit costs less and is more frequent. Taxi services are familiar with University area. Ask for CoRE Bldg (behind Hill Center, on Busch Campus). Otherwise, two blocks behind station are Campus Bus Services. “Behind” is a bit confusing; ask a student where to catch a campus bus.

Contact: Amtrak: 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) in US or Canada (Use an international travel agent from other places.) Cost between New York and New Brunswick is $18.00 one-way.

Contact: New Jersey Transit - 1-800-772-2222. NJ Transit is more frequent. Cost (NJ Transit in 1998): $7.75 one-way and $11.50 round-trip. Trains run from about 4:00 am to midnight, every half-hour on weekdays and hourly on weekends.

From Philadelphia:

From 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, use SEPTA train to Trenton, NJ; transfer to NJ Transit and proceed as above. Amtrak is a costlier option.

Transportation by Bus

Suburban Transit Bus Lines. Call: 732-249-1100. Buses leave from Port Authority gate #420, New York City every half hour up to 11:00 PM; last bus at 1:00 AM. Buses arrive at the New Brunswick train station; proceed by taxi or campus bus as above. From New Brunswick, buses depart on the quarter hour from the railroad station.
